Claire (Beauregard) Knox

LOWELL Claire (Beauregard) Knox, 88, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away after a brief illness Saturday, December 3, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Frederick William Knox Jr. with whom she celebrated nearly 59 years of marriage before he passed away in 2005.

She was born in Lowell on December 10, 1927 and was a daughter of the late Ephraim Beauregard and the late Eva (Morrissette) Beauregard. Claire was raised and educated in the Highlands section of Lowell, graduating from Lowell High School. She later moved to the Centralville neighborhood where she raised her family and resided for the past 57 years.

In her younger days, Claire was a Nurses Aide, and later worked as a Plate Recorder at Sweetheart Plastics in Wilmington for over 25 years before her retirement.

Claire was a longtime communicant of St. Michael Church. She had a passion for cooking, and enjoyed puzzles, word searches and watching the New England Patriots. Although she had many passions throughout her life, spending time with her family brought her the most happiness. She loved spending time with her family and gathering everyone all together for holidays, especially Christmas Eve and making memories to last a lifetime.

She is survived by her five children, Frederick "Rick" Knox III of Methuen, Linda (Ferguson) Smith and her husband, Bob, of Pelham, NH, Nancy Rowe and her husband, Hank, of Tyngsboro, Donna Narbonne - Nutter and her husband, Gerry, of Lowell, and Gary Knox of Lowell. Claire is also survived by her beloved 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great granddaughter. She is also survived by her beloved dog, Dakota.

Claire was also the mother in law of the late Rose Knox and was predeceased by her sister, the late Annette Lyddy and her 2 brothers; the late Robert Beauregard and the late Raymond Beauregard. She was the last surviving sibling of 4 children in the Beauregard family.

AT HER REQUEST, CALLING HOURS HAVE BEEN OMITTED. ARRANGEMENTS BY THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL, MA 978-458-6816.
