Christina M. Deschenes
Beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother

LOWELL Christina M. (O’Brien) Deschenes, 74, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Friday, January 17, 2014, at Lowell General Hospital after a brief illness with her family by her side. She was the widow of the late Robert L. Deschenes Sr. who passed away July of 2003 after forty-six years of marriage.
A daughter of the late Frederick O’Brien Sr., and the late Margaret (MacDonald) O’Brien-Janowicz, she was born February 12, 1939, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools.
She worked as a machine operator for the Prince Macaroni Company in Lowell for more than thirty-three years before her retirement. Christina also sold Avon products for many years. In addition to spending time with family and friends, she loved camping at her campsite at Wyman's Beach in Westford for over thirty years. She also enjoyed crocheting and playing cards, especially solitaire and cribbage.
She is survived by her sons, Peter M. Deschenes and his wife, Linda of Lowell, and Robert L. Deschenes Jr. and his fiance, Kimberly Donoghue of Hollis, NH; her granddaughter, Sherrie Lyn Maker and her husband, Gary of Lowell; her grandson, Jason Gleason of Vancouver, Washington; and three great grandchildren, Crystal, Justin, and Brendan Gleason. She is also survived by her brother, Frederick O’Brien II and his wife, Carol of Lowell; her nephew, Frederick O'Brien III of California; and her niece, Cathleen O'Brien of Leominster.
