Charles R. ‘Charlie’ Stuart
Lifelong Lowell Resident, Korean War Veteran
LOWELL Charles R. ‘Charlie’ Stuart, 83, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully with his family by his side, Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Lowell General Hospital-Saints Campus. He was a son of the late Clayton and the late Gladys (Newell) Stuart.
Born November 10, 1928, in Lowell, he was grew up and was educated in Lowell. He served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Lowell, and worked as a security guard for the former Wang Laboratories.
Charlie enjoyed spending time with his family. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles, and like to play with handheld video games.
He is survived by his brother, James A. Stuart and his wife, Sharon, of Lowell; his sisters in law, Barbara Stuart of Lowell, and Sandra Stuart of Townsend; as well as several nieces and nephews including Cheryl A. King and her husband, James, of Lowell and Michael Stuart and his wife, Sharon, of Lowell. Michael and his uncle shared a special bond and was referred to by him as ‘Mini’ Dad. He is also survived by many grand nieces and grand nephews.
He was also the brother of the late William, Clayton, Walter and Howard Stuart.
