Charles L. ‘Charlie’ McCullough

"Beloved Husband and Father"

LOWELL Charles L. ‘Charlie’ McCullough, 75, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at his home after a brief battle with cancer with his family at his side. He was the husband of Sisaltina ‘Tina’ M. (LeDuc) McCullough.

Born March 19, 1934, in Lowell, he was a son of the late Charles H. and the late Adeline (Harmer) McCullough, and was educated in the Lowell Schools. He served with the United States Air Force receiving the National Defense Service Medal, the Occupation Medal, and the Good Conduct Medal.
He made his Lowell home in the Highlands Section of the City and was a communicant of St. John’s Episcopal Church. As a member of the Teamsters Local 49, Charlie drove a tractor trailer for over twenty years, working for Wright Trucking before becoming employed with Interstate Motorfreight in Burlington. He was a member of the Veteran’s of Foreign Wars Post 662, Walker Rogers, and the American Legion Post Number #87. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family especially at his Salisbury Beach summer home, and enjoyed motorcycles, softball, and bowling.
As President and Owner of McCullough’s Pub on Middlesex Street for over fifteen years, he was a well respected and well known man throughout the area who was always there for people down on their luck, especially for area Veteran’s. His kindness and generosity will be remembered by many in the area.

In addition to his wife, Tina, he is survived by his children, Charlotte E. McCullough and her husband, Fethi, of Lowell, Cheryl Savvas and her boyfriend, Marcos, of Tewksbury, Diane P. Baez of Lowell, Charles McCullough and his wife, Kristen, of Dracut, Cathy L. Hebert and her husband, Armand, of Lowell, David A. McCullough and his girlfriend, Sue, of Lowell, Mark McCullough of Lowell, John C. LeDuc and his wife, Gretchen, of Lowell, Lisa M. LeDuc of Lowell, Gregory LeDuc and his wife, Cynthia, of Litchfield, NH, Carmela A. LeDuc of Lowell, Jolanda (LeDuc)
Kozombolis and her husband, Nicky, of Lowell, Thomas Eklund of Lowell, Brittney LeDuc of Lowell, Rui George Conde of Lowell, and Charles Conde of Lowell; thirty four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Edward McCullough of Tyngsboro, Robert McCullough and his wife, Eileen, of Glen, NH, Shirley French and her husband, Jerry, of Tyngsboro, Beverly Siebert and Jose of Dracut, Kenneth McCullough of Lowell, Sandra Meagher and Joe of Lowell, Linda Riley and Eddie of Lowell; his mother in law, Florence LeDuc of Lowell, brothers in law, Ray LeDuc and his wife, Karen, of Lowell, John LeDuc and his wife, Vanessa, of Lowell, Elizabeth Fantini of Lowell, Diane Morales of Lowell, Karen LeDuc of Lowell, Bridget Mancuso of Lowell and David LeDuc of Lowell; his former wife, Pauline McCullough of Lowell and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was also the grandfather of the late Charles J. "Chucky" McCullough and the late Kiley LeDuc, and son in law of the late Andrew Joseph LeDuc, and brother in law of the late Cynthia LeDuc and the late Teddy Fantini.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, SEPT. 30. ON THURSDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT ST. JOHN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH, 260 GORHAM ST, LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST.
