Charles A. ‘Charlie’ Last

LOWELL       Charles A. ‘Charlie’ Last, 68, of Lowell, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, at Saints Medical Center.   

     Born December 14, 1940, in Somerville, he was a son of the late John A. and the late Ada B. (Hill) Last. He previously resided in Somerville and Malden before moving to Lowell. He was a United States Army Veteran. 

      A communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, he made his home in the Belvidere Section of the City. Charlie worked as a diesel mechanic for Transgas for more than twenty five years prior to his retirement, and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He enjoyed his retirement with his family and could be found playing cribbage, going to yard sales, playing pool, and fishing.

       His survivors include, as Charlie would tell everyone, his #1 daughter, Sandra E. Last and #1 granddaughter, Kassandra Last both of Lowell, his #1 son, Timothy E. Last and wife, ‘Liza’ and #2 granddaughter Claire Last all of Ayer, his #2 son, Christopher Galbraith of Lowell, and his girlfriend of 18 years, Caroline Galbraith of Lowell, as well as his brother, John Last and wife Lynda, of Wilmington; his sisters, Millie McQuillan and husband George, of Londonderry, NH, Doris Look of Lynn, and Marietta Keaney of Fitchburg; and several nieces and nephews.

      He was also the brother of the late Evelyn Matanza and a brother in law of the late Frank Keaney.

 

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS VISITATION 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. ON TUESDAY.

ON WEDNESDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 11 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH AT 12 NOON.
