Catherine L. ‘Cathie’ Kelley
LOWELL Catherine Leona ‘Cathie’ (Zielinski) Kelley, 56, of Lowell, died Thursday, August 26, 2010, with her loving family by her side after a long illness. She was the wife of Thomas Kelley, with whom she celebrated their Twenty Fifth Wedding Anniversary.
A daughter of Theresa (Rancourt) Zielinski of Lowell and the late Stanley Zielinski, she was born September 18, 1953, in Lowell, was educated in the local schools, and graduated from Lowell Trade High School in 1971. After her graduation, she joined the United States Army. After her honorable discharge, she went on to volunteer at Lowell General Hospital, later working for the Edith Nourse Rogers Veterans’ Hospital in Bedford in the Nursing Department. Cathie for the former Wang Laboratories and retired from the Internal Revenue Service.
She enjoyed traveling, especially to Aruba and Las Vegas. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and also enjoyed gardening and playing Cribbage, but her favorite past-time was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her great grand daughter.
Cathie was a beautiful lady with a zest for life. They say God only picks the most beautiful flowers for the rows of his garden and today we believe she was placed in the front.
In addition to her husband, Thomas, she is survived by her children, John T. Kelley of Charlestown, Christine A. Kelley and her husband, James Anthony, of Hudson, NH, and Amy Hull and her husband, Daryl, of Dracut; her daughter in law, Theresa Beaudoin of Lowell; her four grandchildren, Patrick Kelley and his wife, Adriana, of Lowell, Jason Burns of Nashua, NH, Nicole Kelley of Lowell, and Ashlynn Hull of Dracut; her great grand daughter, Arcilia Kelley of Lowell; her brothers, Frank Zielinski and his wife, Sherry, of Virginia Beach, VA, and Peter Zielinski of Hot Springs, AK; her father in law, John T. Kelley of Lowell; her adopted family, June and Michael Nguyeun of Lowell; as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Cathie has now joined her son Jimmy in heaven as well her mother in law, Rita (Silva) Kelley, and her brother, Stanley Zielinski.
