Carmela “Mala” Tarallo
“Beloved Sister, Aunt and Friend”
LOWELL Carmela Tarallo , 101, passed away Friday, February 2, 2018 at Wingate at Belvidere.
She was born in Lowell on January 12, 1917 and was a daughter of the late Alfonse Tarallo and the late Sinfarosa (Terrana) Tarallo. She was raised and educated in the Dracut and Lowell areas and has been a longtime Lowell resident for most of her long life.
She was a longtime communicant of the former St. Peter’s Church. She worked as a stitcher and later a supervisor throughout Lowell working within the garment and textile industry.
Mala was a great cook and will be remembered for the wonderful meals she prepared for many parades and Italian Club functions over the years. She enjoyed playing bingo and traveling, especially to Foxwoods and even Atlantic City.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Johanna “Jenny” Tarallo of Lowell and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was also the sister of the late Santa Saldi, the late Rosario Tarallo and the late Dominick Tarallo.
