Isabel R. Brum
LOWELL Isabel R. (Sousa) Brum, a lifelong Lowell resident, died May 11, 2008 two days before her 85th Birthday, at Willow Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the wife of Manuel T. Brum, with whom she celebrated their 54th Wedding Anniversary last July.
A daughter of the late Antonio Jacinto and the late Maria (Concecion) Sousa, she was born May 13, 1923, in Lowell, and attended the Lowell Schools.
She has made her lifelong home in Lowell, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. She worked for various Lowell Shoe Mills before working as a stitcher for United Heel prior to her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, Manuel, she is survived by nieces and nephews, Paul Ignatowicz and his wife, Martha, of Pelham, NH, David Sousa of Jacksonville, FL, Mary Belodeau of Pelham, NH, Cynthia Smith and her husband, Corky, of Groton, and Diane Gilmore and her husband, Ralph, of Westford; and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Rose Sousa, the late Clara Bixby, the late John Sousa, and the late Edmund Sousa, and aunt of the late Manuel Sousa, George Sousa, James Sousa and Elsie Sousa and sister in law of the late Luis Brum.
