Brian E. Bell, Sr.

Owner of Nu Wave Autobody, Inc, Lowell

LOWELL Brian E. Bell, Sr., 51, of Lowell, died unexpectedly of a heart attack, Sunday, December 6, 2009, at Saints Medical Center. He was a son of Leslie G. Bell and Charlotte B. (White) Bell, and is survived by Patricia M. Silva.

Born March 23, 1958, in Lowell, he grew up in Groton and was a graduate of Nashoba Valley Technical High School, Autobody Program, and for the past twenty five years, made his home in Lowell. Throughout his lifetime, he received extensive training and certification in paint and autobody repair.

Racing with his children was his passion. Beginning in 1996, his children raced Junior Dragsters under his guidance. Currently, he owned a full size dragster with his son as driver. Along with his family he traveled throughout the East Coast to participate in various racing events. He was also a member of the International Hot Rod Association as well as the National Hot Rod Association. When he wasn’t racing, his other hobbies were camping, fishing, and playing cards.
He worked for several local auto body shops in the area before opening his own shop, Nu Wave Auto Body Inc. in Lowell, and also taught autobody at Nashua Community College and was also on the Advisory Board of the Autobody Program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.

In addition to Patricia, and his parents, Leslie and Charlotte, he is survived by a son, Brian E. Bell, Jr., of Lowell; a daughter, Jessica J. Bell of Lowell; his brother, Kevin Bell and his wife, Lois, of Nashua, NH; his sisters, Diane E. Nutt and her husband, Richard, of Pepperell and Robin A. Hebert and her husband, Bernard, of Pepperell; many sisters in law and brothers in law, as well as several nieces, nephews, and his extended Racing Family.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS 2 UNTIL 4 AND 6 UNTIL 8 ON THURSDAY, DEC. 10. ON FRIDAY, HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 11 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816. BURIAL IN ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY. MEMORIALS IN HIS NAME MAY BE MADE TO THE CHARITY OF YOUR CHOICE.
