Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Albert

LOWELL Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (Kyajohnian) Albert, 81, of Lowell, died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at Fairhaven Nursing Home after a lengthy illness. She was the widow of the late Bertrand E. Albert who passed away in 1996.

Born October 31, 1930, in Lowell, she was a daughter of the late Avedis and the late Theresa (Onanian) Kyajohnian, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School. Later she went to school for keypunch operations, and got her start in banking.

Betty made her home in Lowell until 1974 when she moved with her husband to California, raising her family in that area. She worked as a Bank Officer for Sanwa Bank while in California, while her husband transferred from the Boston and Maine Railroad to the Sante Fe Railroad. After Bertrand’s death, Betty moved back to Lowell making her home on Princeton Boulevard for many years. After returning to Lowell, she worked for the Wood Street Marketbasket for several years.

She enjoyed life and was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and always had a smile for all. She enjoyed going out to dinner, the water, and was an avid banker.
She is survived by her son, Douglas E. Albert of Goffstown, NH; her daughter, Brenda L. Sumner of San Dimas, CA; five grandchildren, including Michael Albert of Henniker, NH, and Megan Albert of Hillsborough, NH, and Alicia, Brandy, Robert, Charles, Marie, Jasmine, Amber, and Richard; her sister, Alma Vivier and her husband, William, of Billerica; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was also a sister of the late John Kyajohnian.
