A son of the late Benjamin M. Hampson Sr and the late Ora (Barsorian) Hampson, he was born October 24, 1934, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School. After graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corp. serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a machinist for Polaroid Corporation and retired from Nashua Corporation. He made his home in Lowell until the late Sixties when he moved to Hudson, New Hampshire. Ben was actively involved in Civil War re-enactment organizations, the National Rifle Association, and was a member of the 4H Pony Club. He was also an avid fisherman and gifted pool player. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially trips to California to visit his daughter and her family. He also enjoyed spending time in Las Vegas and could be found at the Roulette Table. He was also a true animal lover, and was especially fond of his dogs, Phoebe and Erica.
In addition to his wife, Angela, he is survived by his daughters, Valerie A. Jesson and her husband, Michael C. Jesson, of Derry, NH, and Doreen Lee Hampson and her husband, Phillip Pepe, of Thousand Oaks, CA; his grand daughter, Marissa Cohen and her husband, David, of Waltham; his grandson, Casey Benjamin Jesson of Derry, NH; a great grand daughter, Katarina Star Jesson of Derry, NH; his sisters in law, Marlene and James Banyas of Westford, Roseann Goulas of Westford, nieces and nephews, including Vanessa Banyas of Westford, Jimmy Banyas Jr. of Rye, NH, and Jonathan D. Goulas of Westford, as well as a great nephew, Michael A. Banyas of Westford.
He was also a son in law of the late Manoug Parigian and the late Vartouhi (Buzdigian) Parigian. We would also like to thank the in house Hospice and VA Hospital team for their kind and compassionate care.
