Barbara M. Mello
LOWELL Barbara M. (Terrell) Mello, 67, a longtime Lowell resident, died unexpectedly, Saturday, April 8, 2017 at Lowell General Hospital, after complications resulting from a recent surgery. For more than forty years, she was the beloved wife of Helder Mello.
A daughter of the late Clifford Terrell, and the late Mary (Clark) Terrell, she was born May 28, 1949, in Lowell and was raised and educated in Billerica. After her marriage to Helder, she moved back to Lowell where she raised her family.
She made her home in the Back Central Street Section of the City and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church. Barbara enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. She also loved Bingo, in particular playing Saturday nights in Hudson, NH at the Kiwanis Bingo Hall with Spartan Bingo. She also enjoyed spending time at Cape Cod, and has been visiting the area for her entire life, principally staying near the Canal in Bourne and also in Sandwich.
Besides her loving husband, Helder, she is survived by her son, Joseph C. Mello and his wife, Brenda, of Lowell; her beloved grandchildren, Taylor, Dominic, and Kendra Mello all of Lowell; her sister, Donna Terrell of Billerica; her dog, Buddy; and many cousins.
HER MEMORIAL MASS WILL BE HELD AT ON MONDAY APRIL 17 AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL AT 6:30 P.M..
