Barbara Lemire
LOWELL Barbara (Lyons) Lemire, 80, of Lowell, passed away peacefully, Monday, May 25, 2015, at Wingate of Belvidere with her daughter at her side. She was the beloved widow of the late Walter J. Lemire who died March 2014.
A daughter of the late Arthur and the late Anna (McHugh) Lyons, she was born June 24, 1934, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools, graduating from Lowell High School, where she was voted Victory Queen in her Senior Year.
Barbara made her lifelong home in Lowell, and was a member of the former Sacred Heart parish, and was a communicant of Holy Family Parish as well as a member of the League of Catholic Women. She was also a member of the Pioneers and was a friend of the Sisters of the Monastery of Poor Clare in Andover. She especially enjoyed time spent with family and friends, traveling the country with her husband, and walking along the Lowell Boulevard.
She worked as a telephone operator for New England Telephone Company of Lowell for almost thirty years prior to her retirement.
She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne M. Lemire and Russell Belley of Lowell; her grandchildren, Matthew W. Hrinchuk of Lowell, Brian W. Hrinchuk and his girlfriend, Amanda Loiselle, of Dracut and Jenna P. Hrinchuk and her fiance, Kimsorng Mao of Dracut; her great grandchildren, Nathan Matthew Kim-Hrinchuk of Lowell, Sophia Suzanne Mao of Dracut and Rosabelle Barbara Hrinchuk of Dracut, and Kameron Walter Mao of Dracut; and her cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would also like express their love to the wonderful staff at Wingate for all the help and support throughout this difficult time.
She was also the mother of the late Martin P. 'Magic' Lemire.
