Arthur R. 'Bud' Wonson
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Uncle
HUDSON, NH Arthur R. 'Bud' Wonson, 83, of Hudson, NH, passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at Southern New Hampshire Medical Center in Nashua. He was the beloved husband of Joanne (Oliveira) Wonson for seventeen years.
Born August 5, 1930, in Chelsea, he was a son of the late Asa Wonson and the late Catherine I. (Downing) Wonson, attended the local schools in Chelsea and graduated from Chelsea High School.
He grew up in Chelsea, resided in Tewksbury in the 1970's, resided in North Carolina for a few years, before settling in Hudson, NH since 1999. Bud was a union painter, an accomplished guitarist in a local band, an artist, and a gifted oil painter. In his retirement, he worked in maintenance for the Town of Litchfield, NH. He was an avid New England Patriots and Boston Bruins fan. He enjoyed traveling, camping, and more recently reading. Bud's most treasured times were spent with his family and his dog, Rocky.
Mr. Wonson proudly served his country with the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict holding the rank of Private First Class until his honorable discharge.
In addition to his wife, Joanne, he is survived by four sons and their spouses, Arthur 'Buddy' Wonson and his wife, Marianne of Haddonfield, NJ, Larry Wonson and his wife, Diane of Maine, Glenn Wonson and his wife, Stacy of Lowell, and Kristopher Wonson and his wife, Heather of Lowell; two stepdaughters and their spouses, Pauline Pramis and her husband, Michael of Florida, and Lauren Murphy and her husband, Shawn of Billerica. He is also survived by his many beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; his good friends and neighbors, Sarah Jarry and Vernon Thompson; and his brother in law, Bill Curtin and his wife, Pat of North Carolina. He is also survived by his former spouses, Joan Spearman of Oklahoma and Christine Curtin of Florida.
He was predeceased by his sister, June Fitzgerald and her husband, James.
