Antonio S. Andrade
BRISTOL RI Antonio Silveira Andrade, 98, of Bristol, Rhode Island, died Saturday, October 4, 2008, at Warren Healthcare. He was the widower of the late Maria (Macedo) Andrade who died June 2, 1987.
Born March 24, 1910, in Flamengos, Faial, Portugal, he was a son of the late Antonio Jose Andrade and the late Luisa Constancia Dos Santos. While in Portugal, he owned his own farm and worked the land. In 1969, he came to the United States, settling in Lowell where he worked in several of the areas factories before working for the former St. John’s Hospital in the kitchen for 14 years. He retired at age 75 after a lifetime of hard work and dedication.
Mr. Andrade was very religious, and was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church when he lived in Lowell. He enjoyed getting out, visiting with his friends, walking and watching television. He was an international traveler, having visited, Morroco, Spain, Canada, and of course his home Country of Portugal including Lisbon and the Azores. He also traveled throughout the United States.
He is survived by his son, Rev. Antonio L. Andrade of Hudson, MA; two daughters, Angela A. Brum of Bristol, RI, and Maria Barcelos and her husband, Rafael, of Terceira, Azores; three grandchildren, Sandra Brum of Portsmouth, RI, Michael Brum of Bristol, RI, and Lara Barcelos of Terceira, Azores, Portugal; two great grandchildren, Dante Miranda-Brum of Portsmouth, RI, and Brittney Brum of Bristol, RI; a sister, Maria Amelia Rosa of Lowell; and nieces and nephews.
He was alsot the father of the late Estela Andrade and the late Alice Andrade.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH AT 11 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY.
