Antoinette ‘Ann’ Dziedzinski
Lifelong Lowell Resident, Foster Grandparent
LOWELL Antoinette ‘Ann’ (Balkus) Dziedzinski, 92, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. She was the widow of the late Francis R. Dziedzinski.
A daughter of the late Sylvester and the late Tekla (Sawicka) Balkus, she was born March 14, 1924, in Lowell, and educated in the local schools.
Mrs. Dziedzinski was a member of the former St. Joseph’s Lithuanian Church, and a member of Immaculate Conception Church. She made her home in Lowell and had worked in several of the local Mills in the 1940’s and retired from Mobil Chemical where she worked as a relief packer for more than fifteen years. Following her retirement, Antoinette was an Adult Family Care Provider through Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley for over nine years. She then volunteered for the Community Teamwork Headstart Program as a Foster Grandparent for more than nine years. She resided at Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Chelmsford for seven years and the family is extremely grateful for the wonderful compassionate care and love that the staff bestowed upon her for all those years.
Ann was the core of her family, a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, and is survived by her six children, Helen A. Santoro and her husband, Philip, of Westford, Sandra J. Fall and her husband, Stanley, of Lowell, Francis R. Dziedzinski and his wife, Jean, of Chelmsford, Linda M. Dziedzinski of Winchendon, Janet C. Smaldone and her husband, Kenneth, of Exeter, NH, and Mary T. Dziedzinski and her husband, Charles R. Cresta Jr. of Rindge, NH; her eleven grandchildren, Carla Santoro, Andrea Santoro, and Philip Santoro, Andrew Fall and Derek Fall, Jennifer Cronin and Richard Dziedzinski, Justin Forsyth, and Dylan Forsyth, Colton Smaldone and Antonina Smaldone, as well as her step grandson, Charles Mroz; her five great grandchildren Charlise, Scarlett, Jonathan, Emily, and Sarah; her sister, Helen Mulligan and her husband, Donald Mulligan Sr, of Lowell; her brother, Peter Balkus of Seminole, FL; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

ON TUESDAY, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME. HER FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, 144 EAST MERRIMACK ST., LOWELL AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN HOLY TRINITY CEMETERY.
