Anthony 'Tony' Melim
LOWELL Anthony 'Tony' Melim, 81, of Lowell, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at Life Care Center of the Merrimack Valley in Billerica. He was the husband of the late Patricia (Donoghue) Melim who passed away in 2009.
A son of the late Manuel and the late Mary Rose (Gonsalves) Melim, he was born August 11, 1933 in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools. Mr. Melim proudly served with the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War, earning the Purple Heart Award before his honorable discharge.
He was employed in the maintenance department for the City of Lowell Highway department for many years before his retirement.
Tony is survived by his siblings, Manuel Melim, Isabel Bello, Maria Neves, and Constance Sweeney all of Lowell; his dear friends, Dina Soliman, Sarah Soliman, and Lucille Nocella, all of Lowell; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the brother of the late George Melim.
