Anthony P. ‘Tony’ Guerriero
TYNGSBORO Anthony P. ‘Tony’ Guerriero, 85, of Tyngsboro, passed away after a brief illness, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Lowell General Hospital with his family by his side. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth (Castro) Guerriero who passed away in 2011 after sharing 57 years together.
Tony was born on September 4, 1930, in East Boston, he was a son of the late James A. Guerriero and the late Anna (Dibiase) Guerriero. He was raised in Boston, where he attended the area schools.
Mr. Guerriero was very proud of his service to his country. Immediately after high school he joined the United States National Guard before joining the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Tony was a member of the American Legion in Tewksbury.
He was employed with the City of Cambridge Cemetery Department and then as a District Foreman for the Mass Highway Department out of Arlington, MA.
He enjoyed going to Foxwoods, playing bingo, going out to eat, especially to Italian Feasts, and listening to Frank Sinatra. He was Frank Sinatra’s biggest fan.
Anthony’s family would like to thank the Tynsgboro Community Center, everyone at Brinley Terrace, and also Personal Care Touch, his PT Therapist, Donna, his homemaker, Kathy, and also Lowell General Hospital, the ICU Nurses and Hospitalists for their compassionate care given to Anthony during this time.
Tony is survived by his two sons, Anthony Guerriero of Tewksbury, and Joseph Guerriero and his wife, Kathy of Tyngsboro; five grandchildren, Jay Guerriero, LeeAnn Guerriero and her husband, Jerod Griffin, Joseph Guerriero and his fiancé, Elisa MacDonald, Daniel Guerriero, and Maxine Guerriero. He is also survived by nine great grandchildren, Orion, Angel, Jaydon, Jaylyn, Zachary, Desirey, Ian, Sean, and Anthony; his sister, Rose Robbins of Texas; and many nieces, nephews, and friends, including, Jim and Lisa Ripley and their family, Pam Lefebvre and the Green family.

 

ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 12, YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.

ON SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 13, HIS FUNERAL SERVICE WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE FUNERAL HOME AT 10 A.M.. BURIAL IN ST. MARY CEMETERY.
