Anthony Olivera
LOWELL Anthony Olivera, 96, of Lowell, died Wednesday, July 15, 2009, at Genesis Health Care Center, Heritage Nursing Home. He was the widower of the late Louise (Costa) Olivera who died in 2007.
A son of the late Jaime and the late Filomena (Fonseca) Olivera, he was born June 27, 1913, in Lawrence, and educated in that area.
He served with the United States Army during World War II. After his honorable discharge, he worked for the United States Post Office in maintenance until his retirement.
He is survived by his son, Anthony J. Olivera and his wife, Mary Ann, of Penobscot, Maine; a grand daughter, Kaysa Sandifer of Simi Valley, California; a sister, Jenny Grella of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.
