Anthony J. 'Tony' Cunha
Beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Grandson, and Friend
LOWELL Anthony J. 'Tony' Cunha, 33, of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus.
Born June 2, 1979, in Lowell, he was a son of Manuel Cunha, and Denia (Bettencourt) Cunha of Lowell, attended the local schools, and graduated from Greater Lowell Technical High School.
He resided in South Lowell, and was a communicant of St. Anthony's Church. He was employed as a mason for the past few years for Allen Construction Company. Tony was an extremely friendly and easygoing person. He was the type of guy you would want as a friend. He loved wrestling and sports, especially all of the Boston teams. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing darts and was a member of the Portuguese American Center also known as 'The Blues Club' on Charles Street in Lowell.
In addition to his parents, Manuel and Denia, he is survived by his three siblings, David Cunha and his wife, Liz of Sacramento, CA, Natalie Monty and her husband, James of Lowell, and Joshua Cunha of Lowell; two nephews, James Monty and Devon Monty both of Lowell; a step nephew, Camryn Brown of Sacramento, CA; his grandparents, Joao Bettencourt and his wife, Antonieta of Lowell; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was the grandson of the late Antonio and Maria Cunha.
YOU ARE INVITED TO HIS CALLING HOURS FROM 4 UNTIL 9 P.M. ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8. ON THURSDAY, HIS FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT 9 A.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL (978 OR 800) 458-6816. HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY'S CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL STREET, LOWELL AT 10 A.M..
