Anna Reilly
LOWELL Anna Reilly, 93, a longtime Lowell resident, died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Heritage Nursing Care Center. She was the widow of the late James F. Lemar, and Edward P. Reilly.
A daughter of the late Anthony and the late Anna (DeSantos) Mendonsa, she was born August 18, 1920, in Lawrence, and moved to Lowell at a young age, and was educated in the local schools.
As a teenager Anna worked in the local Mills before working as a saleswoman for the Thorndike Factory Outlet for more than fifteen years. She also worked at the Giant Store and for various other downtown stores.
A former member of the Immaculate Conception Parish, more recently she was a member of St. Anthony’s Parish, and enjoyed watching television and was a former member of the St. Anthony’s Glee Club.
She is survived by her son, Richard J. Lemar of Lunenburg; her granddaughter Marina Lemar of Tucson, AZ, and her grandson, Eric Lemar of Lancaster, CA; her sister, Adeline Pulaski of Lowell; her brother, Anthony Mendonsa of Florida; and several other nieces and nephews, and friends including Terry Rourke of Lawrence who had taken care of her for many years.
She was also a sister of the late Alice Pace, the late Mary Wain, the late Marion Cunha, the late Jenny Silveria, the late John Mendonsa, and the late Roland Mendonsa.
