Angela Isabella ‘Angie’ Ryan

CHELMSFORD Angela Isabella ‘Angie’ (Roche) Ryan, 82, of Chelmsford, formerly of Lowell, died Monday, April 12, 2010, at Willow Manor Nursing Home after a brief illness. She was the widow of the late Bernard R. Ryan who died in August 2000.

A daughter of the late Francis and the late Ella (Cassidy) Roche, she was born October 2, 1927, in Lowell, and was educated in the local schools.

Angie grew up on Moore Street, and lived in the Belvidere Section of the City from the 1970’s until 2007, when she relocated to Chelmsford. She was a member of the former Sacred Heart Parish and a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church, and was active in many of the religious organizations within the Parishes including the Blessed Mary Sodality, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the League of Catholic Women. She was also an active member of several social organizations in the area including Mount Pleasant Golf Club, and the Democratic Party.

Before her retirement, she worked as the Head of Payroll for the Department of Public Works in Boston.
Her survivors include her sister, Mary (Roche) Kennedy of Haverhill; her cousin, Thomas McElligott and his wife, Alice, of Billerica; a sister in law, Mary L. Dougherty and her husband, Thomas, of Lowell; a brother in law, James P. Ryan and his wife, Eleanor (Regan) of Lowell; her niece, and two nephews, as well as several grand nieces and grand nephews.
