Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother
BILLERICA Alma Alice (Kyajohnian) Vivier, 84, of Billerica, passed away peacefully, Friday, August 5, 2016, at Lifecare Center of Billerica surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with alzheimer's. For the past thirty five years, she was the beloved wife of William ‘Bill’ G. Vivier.
Of straight Armenian decent, she was a daughter of the late Avedis and the late Theresa (Onanian) Kyajohnian who escaped the Armenian Genocide, coming to the United States with family. She was born November 17, 1931 in Lowell and was educated in the Lowell Schools.
She made her home in Billerica for the past thirty five years and was a member of St. Vartanantz Armenian Church. Alma was very dedicated to her family and was a true caregiver throughout her life, especially to her children and grandchildren. She loved to go dancing with her husband, loved traveling and gardening, but especially enjoying taking cruises to the Caribbean. Mrs. Vivier worked as an Quality Control Inspector for Raytheon Corporation for almost twenty years before her retirement.
Besides her loving husband, Bill, she is survived by her children, Karen Garabedian and her husband, Richard of Lowell, Kenneth Larivee of Lowell, Leslie Nutter of Nashua, NH, and Tammy (Larivee) Pantano of Dracut; her eleven grandchildren, Christopher and his fiance, Marcia, Jamie, Deanna, and Jonathan Garabedian, Jessica and Ryan Larivee and his wife, Channy, James and Melissa Nutter, Kerri Tarmey and her husband, Brendon, and Stephanie and Olivia Pantano; her great grandchildren, James Hand, Jezanalize and Leon Larivee, Brendon III, Ella, Penny, and Maggie Tarmey; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her brother, the late John Kyajohnian, and her sister, the late Elizabeth Albert.
ON MONDAY, AUGUST 8, YOU ARE INVITED TO HER VISITATION FROM 4 UNTIL 8 P.M. AT THE MCDONOUGH FUNERAL HOME, 14 HIGHLAND STREET, LOWELL 978-458-6816.
ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 9, HER FUNERAL WILL BEGIN AT THE FUNERAL HOME AT 10 A.M.. HER FUNERAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT STS. VARTANANTZ ARMENIAN CHURCH, 180 OLD WESTFORD RD., CHELMSFORD AT 11 A.M.. BURIAL WILL FOLLOW IN ST. JOSEPH CEMETERY.
