Alfreda M. (Direnska) Fawcett
Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother

LOWELL -- Alfreda M. (Direnska) Fawcett, 90, a lifelong Lowell resident, passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 22, 2017 with her family by her side at her home in The Highlands. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert F. Fawcett who passed away in 2007.

A daughter of the late Walter D. Dziewierzynski and the late Kazimiera (Talman) Dziewierzynski, she was born June 3, 1926, in Lowell. She was raised and educated in the Lowell area and was a graduate of Lowell High School.

Mrs. Fawcett enjoyed spending time at the beach, oil painting and was a great cook. More than anything, her greatest joy was her family. Raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was what she cherished most in life. She was also a communicant of St. Margaret Church.

She is survived by her sons, Alexander Fawcett and his wife, Eileen, of Dracut and Dr. Paul Fawcett and his fiancé, Susan Vavala, of Newark, DE; her daughter, Roberta F. Jones of Lowell; her 6 grandchildren, Daniel Fawcett and his wife, Shealeigh, of Santa Barbara, California, Christopher Fawcett and his wife, Bonnie, of West Newbury, Meghan Fawcett and Michaela Fawcett both of Dracut and Robert Fawcett and Katherine Fawcett both of Rising Sun, Maryland; her 4 great- grandchildren, Colton Ryan Fawcett of Santa Barbara, Ila Fawcett of Santa Barbara, Addilyn Fawcett and Sienna Fawcett both of West Newbury; several nieces and nephews including Captain Thomas D. Fisher, USCG Retired, and his wife, Elizabeth, and Wanda Fisher Quinn and her husband Francis X. Quinn.

She was also the mother of the late Walter D. Fawcett, and sister of the late Jane T. Direnska, the late Gladys T. Direnska, the late Faye Direnska Fisher, and the late Helen D. McElroy.

YOU ARE INVITED TO HER FUNERAL MASS WHICH WILL BE OFFERED ON SATURDAY AT 9:30 A.M. AT ST. MARGARET CHURCH, 374 STEVENS STREET, LOWELL.

PROCESSION WILL FOLLOW FOR BURIAL IN ST. PATRICK CEMETERY ON GORHAM STREET IN LOWELL.
