Albano F. Ferreira
LOWELL Albano Furtado Ferreira, 80, of Lowell, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2016, at Northwood Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after a brief illness, with his loving family at his side. He was beloved husband of Maria Luisa (DeSousa) Ferreira with whom he had celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary this past May 29th.
A son of the late Jose Ferreira DeSousa, and the late Maria Da Conceicao Furtado, he was born March 26, 1936, in Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal and grew up and was educated in that area. He served in the Portuguese Military and worked as a farmer before coming to the United States in March of 1980. He settled in Lowell where he resided in the Back Central Street area until his death.
He was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church, and had worked as a manufacturing technician for Prince Macaroni and later Americraft for around 20 years before his retirement.
Albano’s family was the most important thing to him, and he cherished time spent with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, Maria, he is survived by his children, Benvinda M. Ferreira of Lowell, Elia M. Jeffrey and her husband, Steven Caruso, of Lowell, Albano S. Ferreira and his wife, Holly, of Lowell, Luisa McCrensky and her husband, Darrell, of Chelmsford, and Debra Morris and her husband, Chris, of Chelmsford; his nine grandchildren, Brenda Ferreira, Caleb Jeffrey, Taylor Jeffrey, Halle Ferreira, Alicia Ferreira, Jake Ferreira and Kole Ferreira, Samuel McCrensky and Robert McCrensky; his Godson, Adam Laurencio; his brothers and sisters, Maria Da Conceicao Furtado of Portugal, Armanda Sousa Moniz of California, Angelina Ferreira Bernaldo of Toronto, Canada, Maria Jose Ferreira of Sao Miguel, Azores, Antonio F. Furtado Ferreira of Victoria, Canada and Maria Sofia Laurencio of Lowell.
and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was also the father of the late Armenia Ferreira, brother of the late Jose Furtado De Sousa and the late Alda Furtado Correiro.

HIS FUNERAL MASS WILL BE OFFERED AT ST. ANTHONY CHURCH, 893 CENTRAL ST., LOWELL AT 10:30 A.M.. BURIAL IN LOWELL CEMETERY.
