"LOVING MOTHER"
PEABODY Adalgiza Alzira (Cunha) Espinola, 84, of Peabody, formerly of Lowell, died after a brief illness, Monday, March 16, 2009 at Salem Hospital. She was the widow of the late Jose S. Espinola who passed away in 1985.
Born March 24, 1924 in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was a daughter of the late Manuel J. Cunha, and the late Maria A. Cunha. Educated in Graciosa, she came to the United States in February of 1969, settling in Lowell. She resided in Lowell’s Back Central Neighborhood for over 30 years. She worked for Grace Shoe for many years before her retirement. Upon retiring, she moved to Peabody to live with her daughter.
Mrs. Espinola was a devoted communicant of St. Anthony’s Church in Lowell. She enjoyed crocheting, reading and watching television, but most of all she enjoyed time spent with family.
She is survived by two sons; Manuel A. Espinola and his wife, Maria F., of Lowell, Jose J. Espinola and his wife, Maria C., of Lowell, a daughter, Olinda M. Silva and her husband Natalino, of Peabody, seven grandchildren; Raquel M. Espinola of Lowell, Janice A. Espinola of Lowell, Leslie M. Espinola of Lowell, Chris J. Espinola of of North Reading, Derek J. Espinola of Lowell, Jennie M. Bugler and her husband, Tim, of Lowell, Sonia N. DelValle and her husband, Jose, of Peabody, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
