Raymond ‘Ray’ McLaughlin
"Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather"
LOWELL Raymond ‘Ray’ McLaughlin, 70, a lifelong Lowell resident died Sunday, March 10, 2013, at Lowell General Hospital, three years after receiving a double lung transplant. He was the loving husband to Alice (Cloutier) McLaughlin with whom he would have celebrated their Fiftieth Wedding Anniversary this coming June.
A son of the late Walter and the late Mary Eleanor (Fitzsimmons) McLaughlin, he was born December 22, 1942, in Lowell, and was raised and educated in Lowell.
For the past fifty years, he was a resident of the Highlands Section of the City, and a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church. In addition to spending time with his family, he enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida to visit family, and enjoyed time spent with his Granddog, Dunkin.
Mr. McLaughlin worked as a machinist for most of his lifetime, and retired from INSCO Corporation in Hollis, NH in 1996 due to disability.
In addition to his devoted wife, Alice, he is survived by his children, Sharon M. Mahoney and her husband, Philip, of Lowell, Steven S. McLaughlin and his wife, Linda, of Methuen, Sean P. McLaughlin and his wife, Melissa, of Lowell, and Barry R. McLaughlin and his wife, Vivan, of Lowell; his grandchildren Kayla M. Mahoney of Lowell, and Arlisha R. McLaughlin and Elizabeth A. McLaughlin both of Methuen; his brother, Charles McLaughlin and his wife, Ethel, of Florida; his sisters, Pauline Ignatowicz of Lowell, and Maureen Ryan and her husband, George, of East Chelmsford; his sisters in law, Rita McLaughlin of Florida, Brenda McMeniman and her husband, Dan, of Lowell, and Shirley Cloutier of Lowell; his brother in law, William Cloutier and his wife, Donna, of Lowell; his many ‘favorite’ nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles; and his expectant great grandson, Brody Raymond Mahoney due April 2013.
He was the grandfather of the late Nicole McLaughlin, also the brother of the late Walter McLaughlin, the late Theresa Roberts, the late William McLaughlin, and the late Eleanor Luz.
