Major John Dowd Talty
LOWELL Retired Air Force Major John Dowd Talty, 57, died unexpectedly on June 20, 2013 while residing in the Phillipines.
He was born on June 2, 1956 in Lowell, MA and was a son of the late Francis X. Talty and the late Doris (Dowd) Talty. John was educated in Lowell, graduating from Sacred Heart School and Lowell High School with the class of 1974 and from UMass Lowell with the class of 1984.
Mr. Talty proudly served his country in United States Air Force for 20 years, ascending to the rank of Major prior to his retirement.
John was an avid runner, participating in countless road races across the United States. He loved music, reading, and the Boston Red Sox, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children, Caitlyn Talty of New Mexico, Sarah, Francis, John, and Paul Talty Joseph and Joselyn Sagisi all of Niceville, Florida. a brother, Francis T. and his wife Patricia Sullivan Talty of Lowell; sisters, Paula and her husband, Dan Graffius of Turner Falls, MA, and Carolyn Talty and her husband Audley Robinson of Amherst, MA; nine nieces and nephews; and five great nieces and nephews.
