Karen Ann Souza
"Longtime Lowell Resident, Beloved Mother and Grandmother"
LOWELL Karen Ann Souza, 53, of Lowell, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill after a long battle with cancer with her family and friend, Doris St. Pierre by her side.
A daughter of Linda (Flanagan) Souza of Lowell and the late Joseph M. Souza, she was born November 20, 1957, in Lowell, and attended St. Peters Parochial Grammar School and graduated from Lowell High School. She resided in the Highlands Section of the City and was a member of the former St. Peter’s Parish.
Karen worked for General Electric and Ametek Aerospace as a parts manufacturer for over thirty five years. She enjoyed traveling to the beach with her mother and grandchildren especially to Wallis Sands in Rye, NH and Hampton Beach in Hampton, NH. She also enjoyed trips to Foxwoods with her mother and brother and she loved to cook. But most of all, her greatest joy in life was time spent with her beloved family.
In addition to her mother, Linda, she is survived by her son, Jared M. Souza of Lowell; her daughter, Kristen M. Souza Lowell; her four grandchildren, Jarelyce M. Souza, Zachary M. Souza, Isaiah Souza and Aleah Souza all of Lowell; her brothers, William J. Souza and his wife, Cynthia, of Derry, New Hampshire, Joseph M. Souza II and his wife, Kimberly, of Dracut, David M. Souza of Lynn, and Anthony Souza of Lowell; her step sisters, Leah and Deanna Souza of Pelham, New Hampshire, her nieces and nephews, Joseph Souza III, Derek Souza, William Souza, Mellissa Souza, Toni Souza, Linda and Joseph Cosmos, as well as many great nieces and great nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was also a niece of the late Jerry Souza.
