‘Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother’
LOWELL Donald J. McGuire, 78, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died November 21, 2013, at Lowell General Hosital after a brief illness.
He was born in New York, the son of the late Suzanne and Thomas McGuire, moved to Lowell when he was ten, and graduated Lowell High School, Class of 1953. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
He worked at Raytheon for thirty three years, retiring in 1993.
He is survived by his wife, Janice (Coit) McGuire, to whom he was married for the past fifty three years; a daughter, Teri Buckley and his son in law, Bill; a son, Kevin J. McGuire; four wonderful grandchildren who were the light of his life, Hannah and Jack Buckley, Alexa and Elliott McGuire; a sister, Kathleen, and her husband, Fred Rook of Georgia, his brother in law and sister in law, Tony and Mary Coit; his two nephews, Patrick Coit and his wife, Heather, and Timothy Coit and his wife, Pamela, his nieces, Susan Ulan, Judy Lovotti and her husband, Carl, Kathy Florence and her husband, Bill, and many grand nieces and grand nephews, his best friends, Karen and Jack Carr and his faithful companion, his dog "Seamus".
He was also predeceased by his brother, Thomas L. McGuire and also dear friends the late Nancy and Sonny LaFerriere.
